Ingredients

  • Dates (seedless, good quality)
  • Water (a little, for grinding)
  • Hing (Asafoetida)
  • Sugar (or Jaggery, as per preference)
  • Black Salt
  • Regular Salt
  • Red Chili Powder
  • Cumin Powder
  • Garam Masala

Instructions

  1. Take good quality, fresh dates. Clean them and ensure they are destoned (seeds removed).
  2. Grind the dates into a paste. Add a little water as needed to aid in grinding to achieve a smooth consistency.
  3. To the ground date paste, add hing, sugar (or jaggery), black salt, regular salt, red chili powder, cumin powder, and garam masala.
  4. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
  5. Cook the mixture on a medium flame until it thickens into a chutney. The video implies a cooking process to make it ready.
  6. Once the chutney is ready and cooled, transfer it to a clean container.
  7. Store the date chutney in the refrigerator.
